Choosing the Perfect Coffee for Hotels, Cafés, Restaurants and Vending operations

Choosing the right coffee for your business sounds simple — until you're staring at 15 options, four categories, and price points that vary by 40%. The wrong call costs you money, guest satisfaction, or both.

Instead of a 10 mark BCom answer; here are a 4 honest questions and answer that would save your time and ours:

Question 1 — Do your customers see the coffee before they drink it?

Presentation Matters (Catching upon the BCom part).

If your coffee is served openly — a jar on a café counter, a premium vending machine  with a transparent window — presentation matters.
Agglomerated granules look darker and more premium than spray-dried powder.
Beans in a glass jar look even better.
They signal quality before the first sip.

Question 2 — Who are you actually serving?

Lets break it down into regional segments:

For South Indian guests and filter coffee service: 60/40 or 70/30 coffee-chicory blend,  cause they prefer a strong, slightly bitter chicory flavour with their coffee.
Sunoha's Filter Blend (60/40) and Heritage (70/30) are purpose-built for this.

For urban café menus, hotel premium service, international guests: 100% Arabica.  Sunoha Essence (instant) or Sunoha Sereno (roasted beans) for espresso-based drinks.

For a balanced all-rounder that suits most guest profiles: 70/30 or 80/20 Arabica-  Robusta blend. Sunoha Harmony (roasted beans) or Sunoha Mellow (roast and ground)  hit this mark.

Question 3 — How many cups a day, honestly?

<100 cups per day — retail pack sizes (500g to 1kg) work fine. You can reorder when  stock runs low without much disruption.
200-500 cups per day - you need bulk packs and a predictable reorder cycle.
>500 cups per day - you need a direct supplier relationship with a manufacturer.

Question 4 — What is your real cost per cup budget?

Cost per cup matters more than cost per Kg.
Price per kg is what the invoice says. Cost per cup is what your P&L says.
Both are not the same.
More cups -> more sales
More grams needed/cup -> More cost per cup - even for less price per Kg.
Better coffee means better guest experience — and guests who notice the quality come  back. In HORECA, retention is worth far more than the per-cup saving on a wrong blend.
